Grilled Cabbage with Asian-Inspired Glaze
Tender grilled cabbage gets a sweet-savory glaze that adds bold flavor to every caramelized bite.
Ingredients
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tbs raw honey
- 1 tbs tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 head of green or red cabbage
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Sea salt and pepper
- Thyme, rosemary or caraway seeds
Directions
- Heat the grill to high.
- Prep your glaze. In a small saucepan, mix vinegar, honey, tamari and ginger. Bring to a boil and then turn to a low simmer. Cook until reduced (the glaze should coat the back of a spoon).
- Slice the cabbage into one-inch thick rounds. Coat both sides with olive oil, salt, pepper and dried herb of your choice.
- Place the cabbage slices on the grill and close the top. Cook for 10 minutes until edges are crispy and inner leaves are tender.
- Drizzle glaze over cabbage steaks and serve.
